Personality testing

Today I took up a personality test to find out the influence of stress over my personality. Being stressed out by several factors I found out through this test that stress has influenced my personality and Am not the real me as of now. But I hope things will be straightened out soon. I believe a regular assessment of personality can help us identify the influence of stress factors over our personality and can help us eliminate them.

Global Personality Test Results
Stability (56%) moderately high which suggests you are relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.
Orderliness (63%) moderately high which suggests you are, at times, overly organized, reliable, neat, and hard working at the expense of flexibility, efficiency, spontaneity, and fun.
Extraversion (50%) medium which suggests you average somewhere in between being assertive and social and being withdrawn and solitary.

Aghori

The recently released Tamil movie, "Naan Kadavul" introduced me to a new sect of people called Aghori's and I decided to know more about them after watching that movie.

After a heavy Internet search I was able to write this article on aghori's.

The word aghori in Sanskrit means non terrifying. The sanscrit term Aghora is the combination of two words and has various meanings: A is a negation; Ghora is the obscurity of the ignorance, but it also means intense, deep; Aghora therefore means Light, absence of obscurity, awareness, but it also symbolizes a style of life where a person of the Aghori tradition doesn't have intense or deep feelings, it doesn't make difference among the various feelings, seems to be indifferent to the various stories of the life.

It is said that Aghoris drink liquors, smoke ganja, eat meat (in some rites also human meat); they use a human skull as a bowl, they wander among the funeral pyres, meditate at night and don't have any sex inhibition. This path seems to be detached completely from hinduist philosophies and it deceives the true nature of this little known reality in the indian sadhus (ascetics) panorama.

Bleeding Love - valentine's day Special

Closed off from love
I didn't need the pain
Once or twice was enough
And it was all in vain
Time starts to pass
Before you know it you're frozen

Ooooh...

But something happened
For the very first time with you
My heart melted to the ground
Found something true
And everyone's looking 'round
Thinking I'm going crazy

Oooh, yahhh

But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open

Oooh, oooh...

Trying hard not to hear
But they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears
Try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that their goal
Is to keep me from falling

Hey, yeah!

But nothing's greater
Than the rush that comes with your embrace
And in this world of loneliness
I see your face
Yet everyone around me
Thinks that I'm going crazy
Maybe, maybe

But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open

And it's draining all of me
Oh they find it hard to believe
I'll be wearing these scars
For everyone to see

I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the pain
That I keep all closed in
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love

Are you happy with what you have?

Everyone of us, at some point in our life, complain of it.

But thinking of this issue, let me ask one question to you all, "What have you missed in life to complain about it?"

GOD has given us one life and a chance, to live it to our best and it is up to us to decide how we live it, and how happy we are with it...

Look at the photos above, I felt how much blessed I am to have such a beautiful life.

Life is not about earning money, its all about learning to be at peace.

It doesn't matter if you are bare footed or if your legs are well protected with costly shoes, what matters is how happy you are with what you have...

Life is all about being happy, being at peace and that is what which decides the success of our life.

Interview with GOD

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

“So you would like to interview me?” God asked

“If you have the time” I said.

God smiled,“My time is eternity”

*** There is a beautiful Flash presentation of this poem at http://www.theinterviewwithgod.com where I got this poem. The author of the poem is unknown. ***
“What questions do you have in mind for me?”

“What surprises you most about humankind?...”

God answered...
“That they get bored with childhood.
They rush to grow up and then
long to be children again.”

“That they lose their health to make money
and then lose their money to restore their health.”

“That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future.”

"That they live as if they will never die,
and die as if they had never lived.”

God’s hand took mine

and we were silent for awhile

And then I asked...

“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons
you want your children to learn?”

God replied with a smile

“To learn they cannot make anyone love them.
What they can do is let themselves be loved.”

“To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others.”

“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least.”

“To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in persons we love,
and it takes many years to heal them.”

“To learn to forgive by
practicing forgiveness.”

“To learn that there are persons who love them dearly,
but simply do not know how to express or show
their feelings.”

“To learn that two people
can look at the same thing
and see it differently.”

“To learn that it is not always enough that they
be forgiven by others. But that they must
forgive themselves.”

“And to learn that I am here always.”

Poverty has killed all dreams in this young heart

Kiran Birju Vaghela, 17, was squatting on the promenade, watching the tide go out. He turned lazily and looked disinterestedly with his dark, passionless eyes.

Kiran was born in Mumbai and lost his mother to an illness when he was seven years old. Since then, he and his elder brother have been doing odd jobs to support themselves and their father. They live on the pavement between Carter Road and Khar Danda in north-west Mumbai, which separates a prosperous enclave from a fisherman's colony.

"Humara baap kuchh nahi karta, daru peeke pada rehta hai. Aur khaata hai.(Our father doesn't do anything -- he drinks, eats and sleeps)," says Kiran, a spark of anger flashing in his eyes.

The brothers had to give up their education after their mother's death to become the family's breadwinners. Kiran works as a helper with a caterer who organises weddings, but hardly earns enough to sustain his family.

His brother also works with the same caterer. However, they don't have a fixed income -- what they earn depends on the number of catering contracts, and as and when they are needed. Often, when work is difficult to come by, Kiran says his brother and he have to forego dinner in order to provide for their father's demands for alcohol.

Kiran does not have any big dreams of his own. "Kya kar sakte hain? Kuchh bhi. Ghar mein kaam mil jaaye to achha rahega. Ab padhe nahin hain, to kya sapne dekenge? (What can I do? If I find work in someone's house, it will be nice. Since I haven't studied, what dreams can I have?)"

While he does feel that being uneducated has ruined his chances of making a better life, Kiran believes it is too late now and doesn't indulge in either self-pity or regret. His focus is to get from one day to the next. Between his job and his father's condition, there is no place left for dreams and hopes in this young heart.

How poverty changes lives.....

Slumdog Millionaire has received tremendous international recognition and highlighted Mumbai's underbelly. While some hail it as a grand endorsement for the city, others think of it as a sorry stereotype.

rediff.com correspondents met children in Mumbai's slums to find out what life really means for them.

HE GETS PAID ONLY 10 PAISE PER SHOE

Faheem Khan, Dharavi

Faheem and his family, natives of Bijnore, Uttar Pradesh [Images], have lived in Mumbai for 15 years. Faheem came to the city when he was just one year old.

The family of eight lives in Dharavi, often described as Asia's largest slum.

Faheem is 16, he is in Class X at the R C Mahim School. He also sews soles for shoes at one of the slum's many leather businesses.

His father works as a carpenter on daily wages. "He works if someone comes with work. He is jobless and has nothing to do if there is no carpentry work," says Faheem.

"I go to school in the morning and work in the evening. My brother fixes television cables and that again is on a daily wage. I get a very small amount from what I do. I put wooden heels on sandals and for every pair I get paid only 10 paise. I have another brother who studies in Class VIII and two sisters in Class X and IV," continues Faheem.

Amidst this financial constraint, Faheem forgets to mention his mother. "She is immobile," he says when this correspondent probes him. "She has calcium deficiency and cannot move. We cannot afford medication for her. We are just counting her days."

The government doctors provide free consultancy, but the family has to pay for the medication. "She needs to be medicated with an injection that costs us Rs 1,500 per injection. She needs this continuously for a month. That is going to cost us Rs 45,000. Where do we get this kind of money? We have left things to fate," he says with moist eyes.

"There have been days when none of us get money. We live in rented kholis (huts). We have to pay a rent of Rs 1,500. With no money coming in, we have starved for days. It happens quite often that we starve for more than 10 days a month. My father hasn't got any work for the past six months now."

Faheem goes to school from 7 am to 1 pm, he then goes for tuition after school and works from 4 pm to 11 pm. "I love to play like other kids, but I can't because of my schedule," he says.

"I want to study further and become a computer engineer," he says, confiding his dreams. "I know it is very difficult, but I will study hard. My brother has promised me that he will make me study as much as I want come what may. My sister wants to become a teacher and my dream is to be able to help my brother support my family."

Beauty of the Miniature Art - Bonsai

Bonsai trees are small, yet enchanting.

Even though considered as an art, there is always a criticism about this practice.
There are many people who believe that growing a bonsai tree is a very cruel practice. This is because they assume that a tree needs to be 'starved' of its required nutrients in order to stunt its growth. They also perceive the pruning process as unhealthy and think that it weakens the tree's foundation. All these fears are baseless. The pruning process does not damage the tree's ability to receive nourishment from the soil. Also, a bonsai tree is watered more often than a regular-sized tree to ensure that it receives its share of nutrients.

I don't understand why the people who care for these trees a lot fail to care for the suffering human society.

Is it something like our people are so kind hearted to care for a tree or is it like they care for a tree but fail to care for the suffering human society.

However I see Bonsai as an art and I really love it...

Murali

Murali...
The Idiot who means a lot to me.

With all his love he calls me IDIOT, PARU, STUPID etc., stc.,

A friend of mine who listens to every stupid words of mine

Some one so cute, so lovable, so caring, and so crazy

A friend who feels for me, thinks for me and my welfare, someone so concerned about my welfare.

He is one with whom I share every feeling of mine, be it good or bad, right or wrong, and he listens to them so patiently and remains non-judgmental towards them.

It seems as if the GOD has sent him to me to care for me, and be my friend forever.

Mother Theresa's words

A clean heart is a free heart. A free heart can love Christ with an undivided love in chastity, convinced that nothing and nobody will separate it from his love. Purity, chastity, and virginity created a special beauty in Mary that attracted God’s attention. He showed his great love for the world by giving Jesus to her.

There is a terrible hunger for love. We all experience that in our lives - the pain, the loneliness. We must have the courage to recognize it. The poor you may have right in your own family.
Find them.
Love them.

Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart.

Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.

Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don't only give your care, but give your heart as well.

The more you have, the more you are occupied, the less you give. But the less you have the more free you are. Poverty for us is a freedom. It is not mortification, a penance.
It is joyful freedom. There is no television here, no this, no that. But we are perfectly happy.

I pray that you will understand the words of Jesus, “Love one another as I have loved you.” Ask yourself “How has he loved me? Do I really love others in the same way?” Unless this love is among us, we can kill ourselves with work and it will only be work, not love. Work without love is slavery.

Little things are indeed little, but to be faithful in little things is a great thing.

A sacrifice to be real must cost, must hurt, must empty ourselves. The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, the fruit of service is peace.

Some quotes of Mother Theresa that attracted me and made me think a lot...

"I once picked up a woman from a garbage dump and she was burning with fever; she was in her last days and her only lament was: ‘My son did this to me.’ I begged her: You must forgive your son. In a moment of madness, when he was not himself, he did a thing he regrets. Be a mother to him, forgive him. It took me a long time to make her say: ‘I forgive my son.’ Just before she died in my arms, she was able to say that with a real forgiveness. She was not concerned that she was dying. The breaking of the heart was that her son did not want her. This is something you and I can understand."

""When once a chairman of a multinational company came to see me, to offer me a property in Bombay, he first asked: ‘Mother, how do you manage your budget?" I asked him who had sent him here. He replied: ‘I felt an urge inside me.’ I said: other people like you come to see me and say the same. It was clear God sent you, Mr. A, as He sends Mr. X, Mrs. Y, Miss Z, and they provide the material means we need for our work. The grace of God is what moved you. You are my budget. God sees to our needs, as Jesus promised. I accepted the property he gave and named it Asha Dan (Gift of Hope)."

"When a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her.
It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed."

"Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for their parents. Parents have very little time for each other, and in the home begins the disruption of peace of the world."

"If we really want to love we must learn how to forgive."

"There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation in this world than for bread."

"Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat. "

COLORS

I have always had a craze for colors. I believe they mark the beauty of our world.

I believe that the Earth is secretive and there lies a hidden truth behind everything.

Colors are also one such hidden truths, holding a meaning beyond each one of them.

Colors are uniquely powerful symbols. In magic, they also contain power that can be of use during ritual.

RED: Maintaining health, strength, physical energy, sex, passion, courage, protection. Widely used in defensive magic. The color of the element of Fire. Red is associated with blood (and thus, life and death), birth, volcanoes, and intense emotions. The Zuni of America linked this color with the South. Throughout Polynesia, red was sacred color associated with both the deities and with the highest social classes.

PINK: Love, friendship, compassion, relaxation. Pink is symbolic of gentle emotions and of emotional unions. It's less intense then red.

YELLOW: Intellect, confidence, divination, communication, eloquence, travel, movement. Yellow is the color of the element of Air. It symbolizes the sun, grain, and the power of thought. To the Zuni, it symbolized the North. In polynesia, yellow was a color of royalty and divinity.

GREEN: Money, prosperity, employment, fertility, healing, growth. Green is the color of the element of the Earth and symbolizes our planet's fertility (it's the color of chlorophyll) as well as life itself.

BLUE: Healing, peace, psychism, patience, happiness. Blue is the color of the element of Water. Symbolic of the ocean, sleep, twilight, and the sky. The Zuni employed this color to represent the west.

PURPLE: Power, healing severe disease, spirituality, meditation, religion. Purple was once a European symbol of royalty; today it symbolizes the divine.

WHITE: Protection, purification, all purposes. Symbolic of the Moon, freshness, snow, cold, and potential. Because white contains all colors, it can be utilized for every magical purpose. White symbolized the East to the Zuni.

BLACK: Banishing negativity, absorbing negativity. Symbolizes outer space and the universe. Black is the absence of colors. In some cultures, black represented fertility (as in quite fruitful black earth); in others, wisdom. In our culture it has been curiously linked with evil, due to religious associations. It is not an evil color.

BROWN: Animals. Used for spells involving animals, usually in combination with other colors. Brown represents soil and, to a lesser degree, fertility of the Earth.

ARE YOU HAPPY?

What will you say when some one asks you “How are you?”

Till this morning I had the habit of saying “Am ok”

But today I understood how blessed I was.

Do not know what marked the beginning of the day so different, But I am damn sure, today it was really a different and special day in my life…

Today morning when I was going to my work place, I perceived everything in a new and of course a good perspective… I cannot say I saw everything but it is good to say I perceived things different, because I understand that change is not from my eyes but from my brain…

Its my brain that thought different……

You wont believe, today everything that I crossed seemed too beautiful in spite of the fact that they are the same things that I watch everyday… the same crow, the same myna, but today everything seemed too beautiful…

But I was not able to perceive this difference in the morning, it took me a few hours to understand that this day is a special day in my life…….

It was all when I was look after my new patient Mrs.Parvathy I felt all the difference…

Being in the health care sector and that too in Mental Health, I have seen lotta number of people with sufferings.

I have seen people who suffer physically, mentally or in both means but Mrs.Parvathy was something more than everyone else… she was too good enough to teach me what life is and what real happiness is?

SOMETHING ABOUT MRS.PARVATHY:

Mrs.Parvathy is a 83 years old woman brought to our hospital from an old age home. She was brought to our hospital from the home since the people in the home have refused to care for her.

She suffers from all the handicaps of old age.

They are large enough to be listed,

Diabetes

Hypertension

Paralysis

Mental illness

Amnesia

Speaking difficulty

Isolation

Loneliness etc, etc.

She suffers from severe ulceration of her stomach and intestines that she is not able to take proper food, she suffers diarrhea whenever she takes food. She is unaware of urination and passing motion. And the worst thing beyond this is that she feels happy at spending her time in a bathroom, she hates being inside any comfortable room.

Even worse is the fact that she doesn’t have a child to care for her in her old age.

It was when I saw her crying all through the day I understood how terrible is old age, and what real suffering is.

MY RESOLUTION:

Reading the above article about Mrs.Parvathy I think you must be able to understand how terrible old age is?

If this is the condition of a woman who is able to spend several thousands of rupees for her specialized care, imagine the condition of a poor who suffers even for food.

MY RESOLUTION:

Today I have taken up a voth within myself that I must give my parents the most happy and blessed old age free from sufferings and pain.

Not only do wanna care for my parents but to any one who is old. Pray God that

Sufferings of old age be reduced and let the world belong to everyone such that people have someone to love and care for at any time in their life.

Thanks to Parvathy paati, she not only made me understand the sufferings of old age, but made me realise how blessed and happy I Am.

Love

In most cases we think: this is true love, when in fact is not. But then if this aint love then what it is? There are plenty of things that we confuse with love.

It could be just the basic instinct. The feelings can be passionate and crazy, but in fact both people may want only sex. And after it all the misunderstanding starts, and once infactuated lovers will find out that they have nothing in common and sometimes they dont even know what to talk with each other.

Another variant is when people lack support, care and attention to their person or they are just scared to stay single. Being with someone can be a habit when one simply got used to the other. It can either be a sick addiction or some self-interest. People call all these types of relationship love just by mistake or trying to conceal the true nature of it.

But than what does real love look and feel like? Maybe its when two people seem or feel like know each other for ages and even in their previous lives. They can go on talking and talking and conversation never lacks topics and never gets dull. Or people don't have to say anything because they understand each other without words. And those moments, minutes and even hours of silence are never uncomfortable. True love is when partners complete one another, when they are together its peaceful, the whole other world with its sufferings and problems doesn't exist and nothing even matters.

True love means understanding. One trusts another more than him/herself and feels ready to satisfy every little need of a partner. Two people don't stop for a second looking into each other eyes.

Its said that two persons truly in love aren't looking at each other but in the one direction. And this is rather reasonable because they dont say nothing this is yours and this is mine and share everything: friends, enemies, interests, problems and etc. One has his/her own identity but sees him/herself only as a part of the other. Still real love is not a relationship of property. If you really love someone you may say I belong you but always be ready to let go if it makes the person you love happy.

Jealousy stands out of the true love. How can one be jealous if there is so much love and faithfulness? Real love doesn't long for power, it doesn't want to hurt, doesn't want to punish for mistakes, its self-sacrificing and ready to forgive other and other again. But its wrong to think that true love is always a suffering, it only means that you take a person as he or she is and don't expect the one you love to be perfect.

True love isnt supposed to blow your mind, yet it doesnt tend to get and to possess its a and very special state of a soul.

But the question that true love is still has no definite answer. Do we truly love only once in our life? At what age are we supposed to meet our love? Does it last for a lifetime or just for a while? Probably everyone has his own answers to this questions. The truth is that no one should spend life chasing ideals or building relationships by some model of a true love. One will probably fail and miss the real thing beyond all this.

We should remember that very many things we need to supply our healthy and comfortable living but only the true feeling of love makes life really longer and happier. And this is scientifically proved.
It has been long since I decided to write blogs but really don't know what kept me away from blogging.

But today, I logged into my gmail account with an idea of writing something.... ha ha... It has been always a good idea to communicate and share what we feel with the rest of the community....

Thanks to deepan and selvam anna for persuading me to write blogs...
